Princeton University Preparatory Program

Princeton, NJ

MindPrint has been an integral part of the the highly selective Princeton University Preparatory Program since 2017. Scholars use their MindPrint throughout the 3+ year program to support their academic learning and self-efficacy to prepare them for college and beyond.

The Princeton University Preparatory Program (PUPP) is a highly engaged, holistic college preparation and success initiative that fosters development of students who have been historically marginalized. The multi-year, tuition-free program prepares participants for admission to and success within selective colleges and universities. Starting at the end of freshman year of high school, students participate in an intensive 6.5-week summer institute, weekly classes, theatrical excursions, college tours and more throughout the subsequent school years.

PUPP scholars take their MindPrint assessment toward the beginning of their journey as PUPP scholars, typically in summer between 9th and 10th grade. Results are used by the faculty to identify students who might be at risk for specific academic struggles; students' advisors use MindPrint to provide ongoing academic coaching and support.

PUPP scholars are high academic performers, and MindPrint is used primarily for building students' self-awareness and self-efficacy skills. PUPP reviews the MindPrint reports and resources with scholars in order to give them insight on their own areas of strength and support. Over time, PUPP refers back to the report to support scholars as they prepare for success once they face the increasing rigor and independence expected of them at a selective college. Student coaching using MindPrint provides a clearer understanding of the student's strengths and needs and insights to anticipate challenges before they arise. These challenges can include concerns about specific academic subjects, time management, organization, problem solving, etc. Ongoing planning, development, and follow-up occurs through the PUPP mentors and academic advisors.
